A beautiful study of an oak tree`s yearly journey. thelastkrystallos.wordpress.com
From bare branches to lush leaves…
For two months I’ve watched the old oak dress for Summer and gain its canopy.
Over eight weeks I’ve visited the magical old oak up in the meadow at Green Castle Woods and watched its buds form with a hint of blush, and then unfurland blossomin peridot green. Leavesthat with beauty sprout and flourishand decorate its grey, gnarled boughs. Leavesthat will mature and darkenand clothethe little oakin beauty all Summerlong, before turning golden and brownand droppingto the floor in Autumn.
My series of photographs were taken once a week,
in many different Welsh weather conditions,
and show the oak’s transition from bare to clothed.
