A wonderful poem about home and what it means.
The Memory of Home
Hundreds of steps leading to the fifth floor,
can’t wait to get to my door,
breathless.
Cracked need painting walls,
with matching floors,
outdated
Smells of marvelous coming from the kitchen,
breakfast, lunch, and supper,
parented
Downy on the sheets in perfect folded piles,
an every week routine,
pampered
Questions about school, tests, mates,
daily check-in,
adored
Home where memories are made,
life lessons are taught,
love
